Code of Conduct

With the rise in popularity of golf since the onset of the pandemic, the sport has witnessed a surge in participation. The increased demand has led golf venues to implement stricter restrictions on guest play to accommodate memberships. As a result, accessing facilities and scheduling rounds has become more challenging. In light of these necessary changes, we kindly request your cooperation in managing round logistics.

As esteemed participants in the 2023 lottery and auction event supporting the Kansas Golf Foundation (KGF), we kindly ask all players to adhere to the Pick Your Paradise Code of Conduct. By doing so, you will not only contribute to the positive reputation of the KGF but also help foster a respectful and enjoyable golfing experience for all involved. It is crucial to remember that as players, we bear a significant responsibility in upholding the cherished traditions and values of this game we love.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. Together, let's make this golfing experience a memorable one for everyone.

By checking the box below, you agree to these commitments:

  • Designate a Team Captain: Each lottery team will designate one Team Captain upon registration of Pick Your Paradise. The Team Captain is responsible for all communication with KGF about scheduling and playing the round. Dinner Patrons who participate in the live auction will be required to identify one person who will be responsible for all communications with KGF about the purchased item.

  • Scheduling the Round: All rounds will be scheduled either through KGF or, if approved by the KGF Executive Director, directly with the host member. Team Captains and Dinner Patrons will be contacted shortly after Pick Your Paradise to begin scheduling rounds. All rounds must be played between January 1 and December 31, 2024, unless otherwise indicated in the Event Catalog.

    • Be courteous to the host member by scheduling your round promptly and minimizing cancellations or changes whenever possible. Should a team member become unavailable for a scheduled round, it is the Team Captain’s responsibility to find a replacement team member instead of rescheduling the play date. Excessive rescheduling or cancellations may be considered a forfeit of the round, where funds would be reflected as a donation to KGF.

  • Playing the Round: It is crucial that all players adhere to the highest standards of conduct. Your behavior reflects not only upon yourself but also upon KGF and the host member at the venues where you will be playing.

  • Reimbursement: Greens fees are covered by KGF. Players are responsible for travel, accommodations, and incidentals unless otherwise offered. If any charges are paid by the host member and billed to KGF for reimbursement, KGF will pay the host member and the players agree to promptly reimburse KGF. The Team Captain agrees to be responsible for the Team’s timely reimbursement to KGF.

  • Dinner Tickets: All registrants must be part of a team of 3 people to be eligible to participate in the Pick Your Paradise Lottery. Dinner Patron tickets are available for event attendees not participating in the Lottery. Dinner Patrons may participate in the FundA-Need and Live Auction portions of the event, but are not eligible for the Lottery.

We kindly request that all players observe the following guidelines:

    • Arrive at the venue at agreed upon time
    • Abide by the club’s dress code
    • Change shoes/clothes in the locker room, not in the car or parking lot
    • Don’t use your cell phone on the golf course. Ask your host if photos are allowed.
    • If caddies are optional, choose to take a caddie to support the club’s caddie program. Ask the host what they recommend for caddie fee/gratuity and be prepared to pay cash at the end of the round.
    • Show your appreciation for the privilege of playing at the host venue by maintaining its beauty by repairing divots, raking bunkers, and adhering to local rules.
