Format

Stableford

What that means:

1) Keep your score following USGA Rules of Golf  (RESOURCES: Basic Golfs Rules & Etiquette   ,    USGA 15 Rules Golfers Should Know)

2) Post your score on the 18 Birdies app, under the Gals Who Golf league. All scoring will be maintained on 18 Birdies.

3) You'll receive points for your net score on each hole.

  • Your net score is determined by your handicap. Players should enter their GHIN handicap in to the 18 Birdies app OR 18 Birdies will assign you the maximum handicap and adjust as you post scores each week.

Handicaps will be used in the Stableford event to allow players of varying skill levels to compete more closely. A 20-handicap golfer would get one stroke for every hole, plus an additional stroke for the two most challenging holes on the 18-hole course. If the most difficult hole was a par-4, it would play as a par-6 for a 20-handicap golfer. A score of 5 would award them birdie points.

"Stableford" is a common scoring system in golf that awards points for the number of strokes taken on each hole in relation to par, rather than simply counting your strokes (like in stroke play). Unlike in stroke play, where you want the lowest score, your goal in Stableford scoring is to have the highest score.

Standard Stableford points values are:

  • 0 Points – Double Bogey or Worse (Two strokes or more over par)
  • 1 Point – Bogey (One stroke over par)
  • 2 Points – Par
  • 3 Points – Birdie (One stroke under par)
  • 4 Points – Eagle (Two strokes under par)

**If you do not want to keep score or do not want to follow USGA Rules of Golf, that's ok. Please do not post your score. You will be counted as having participated and will qualify for the "Most Rounds Played" prizes.

Have fun!
